Since 6 March 2013, La Tricoterie has been a cultural and event venue of 1600m² in Saint-Gilles, Brussels. It was founded in 2010 by citizens who wanted to change the world, inspired by the philosopher Edgar Morin. It sits at 158 Rue Théodore Verhaegen, in a building that housed a food paste factory, then a shoe factory, and later a furniture manufacturing plant. Run by La tricoterie ASBL, it hosts concerts, with open stages and jam sessions usually on Mondays.
