De Meevaart is the living room of the Indische Buurt, a neighbourhood center in Amsterdam. It was once a school building that was later used as a community center. It hosts jam sessions alongside a theater hall, a movement space and a kitchen where different groups cook. Tim Doornewaard runs it today as general manager.
