    Privacy Policy

    Last updated: March 2026

At JamOdyssey, we respect your privacy. Because we believe in a safe and unobtrusive web experience, we collect the absolute minimum amount of data required to make the platform work. This policy complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    1. Data We Collect

For General Visitors: We do not require you to create an account to browse events. We do not track your device's GPS location; all location searches are done manually via dropdown menus. We do not use invasive tracking cookies.

For Performers & Hub Managers: If you are granted access to create a profile or manage events, we collect your email address for passwordless authentication (magic links). We also store the public information you choose to provide, such as your artist name, instruments, musical styles, and links to your public social media or music platforms.

    2. Third-Party Services We Use

To provide our services, we rely on a few trusted third-party providers:

    • Umami Analytics: We use Umami to understand website traffic (e.g., how many people view events in Brussels). Umami is a privacy-focused, cookie-less analytics tool that anonymizes your data and complies strictly with GDPR.
    • CARTO & OpenStreetMap: Our interactive maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data and served as map tiles by CARTO, delivered through the Fastly content-delivery network. When you load a map, your IP address is sent to CARTO's servers so they can return the tiles for your view — this is standard practice for web mapping. OpenStreetMap provides the underlying map data and does not receive your data.
    • Internal AI Processing: We use AI (such as Google Gemini) strictly as an internal administrative tool to parse unstructured text and images submitted to us into structured event formats. We do not feed user personal data (PII) into these public AI models.

    3. Your GDPR Rights

As a resident of the European Union, you have the right to:

    • Access the personal data we hold about you.
    • Request corrections to any inaccurate data (e.g., your performer profile).
    • Request the deletion of your data or profile ("Right to be Forgotten").

    4. Contact Us
